Junk Trunk Services

About

The guy in the truck.

Hi, I'm Sergio. Junk Trunk is my family's local junk removal business — based in New Windsor, serving the Hudson Valley.

I moved to Cornwall from Long Island when I was a kid. That was 26 years ago. The Hudson Valley has been home since.

Before this, I bounced around — managed a FedEx delivery route, ran a small insurance office, eventually bought a vending machine business and learned what it actually means to own something. Each step taught me something about doing real work for real people.

Junk Trunk started simply. I had a cargo van. I asked myself how I could put it to better use. Junk removal made sense — partly because I'd already done a few odd hauls for friends and neighbors, and partly because, honestly, I love clearing space.

Just ask my wife. I'm always trying to convince her to donate something, dump something, give something away. I genuinely believe a cluttered home makes for a cluttered mind. There's a real weight that lifts when stuff stops piling up.

Junk Trunk is my way of helping people feel that — without them having to lift a thing.

How I work

Fair work, honest pricing, no shortcuts.

I'm not the cheapest junk removal company in the Hudson Valley. I'm not the biggest. I'm not the flashiest.

What I am is local, honest, and consistent. I quote you a fair price before I show up. I do what I said I'd do. I leave the space cleaner than I found it. I don't disappear, I don't upcharge, I don't cut corners on disposal — usable items go to donation or get listed for resale, not to the dump.

I'd rather build a business slowly on real customer relationships than chase quick jobs that come and go. That's why I'm answering the phone when you call, not a call center. That's why I quote your job personally instead of running you through a generic form.

For now, it's just me and the van. As things grow, more vehicles will come, possibly rolling dumpsters too. But the way I work won't change — fair pricing, real conversations, jobs done right.

Why I do this

I do this for my family.

Everything I'm building, I'm building for the people who matter most. They're the reason I work hard. They're the reason I answer late-night messages from worried customers. They're the reason I take the time to do every job right.

If you're trusting me with your home and your stuff, you're trusting me with the same care I'd put into work for my own family. That's not a marketing line. That's just how it works.

The first job

The Nextdoor post that started it.

The first time someone paid me to haul their junk, I found the job on Nextdoor. A neighbor had posted needing yard cleanup — about a year's worth of household stuff piled up. I saw the post, messaged her, and showed up the same day.

I quoted it from photos. I learned that day that quoting from photos alone isn't always accurate — the job ended up being more than the pictures showed. But I worked through it, finished it, and left a happy customer.

That's how I learned how this business actually works. Every job since has taught me something. I take that seriously.
