Junk Trunk Services

Services

What we haul.

Whether it's one item or a whole house — here's the full list.

We do junk removal across Orange and Dutchess County. That means we show up, we lift, we load, we haul, and we sweep up after ourselves.

You don't lift a thing. You don't have to be home (for most jobs). You don't get a surprise bill at the end. We give you the price before we start, and we don't change it after we finish.

Below are the kinds of jobs we do. If your situation isn't on the list, text us — there's a good chance we still cover it.

Residential junk removal

The most common thing we do. Furniture, appliances, mattresses, electronics, yard waste, that pile of stuff in the corner of the garage you've been meaning to deal with for two years — we haul it all. Whole-house cleanouts, single rooms, partial loads. You point, we lift.

What's included:

  • Pickup from any room in the house
  • Furniture, appliances, mattresses, electronics
  • Yard waste, construction debris (small amounts)
  • Loading and hauling
  • Sweep-up before we leave
  • Donation drop-off or Marketplace listing for usable items

Starting at $200 (quarter-van load)

Real example

A Newburgh homeowner finishing a kitchen remodel had us haul out the old fridge, dishwasher, broken cabinets, and a pile of packaging in one trip. Done in 90 minutes.

Garage & basement cleanouts

The two rooms in every house where stuff goes to die. Holiday decorations from 2008, a broken treadmill, the high chair from when your kids were toddlers, boxes you never unpacked from your last move. We sort it, lift it, load it, sweep up. You don't lift a thing.

What's included:

  • Full or partial garage cleanouts
  • Full or partial basement cleanouts
  • Sort-and-haul approach (we can flag items you want to keep)
  • Furniture and appliance removal
  • Sweep-up of cleared space
  • Donation drop-off for usable items

Starting at $200

Real example

A Beacon homeowner needed her garage cleared before the new car arrived. We hauled 18 years of accumulated stuff in a single afternoon. Now she can park inside.

Estate cleanouts

A whole house cleared, often after a loss or a major life change. These jobs are emotional, time-sensitive, and require discretion. We've done them. We coordinate with realtors, attorneys, and family members. You don't have to be there. We treat the space with respect — and we always check before throwing away anything that looks meaningful.

What's included:

  • Full house cleanouts after a death, move, or downsize
  • Coordination with realtors, attorneys, family
  • "Set aside" service for items family wants to keep
  • Donation drop-off (we can provide receipts for tax purposes)
  • Marketplace listing for valuable items
  • Sweep-up and final walkthrough
  • Discreet, no-judgment approach

Quote required — every estate is different

Real example

We coordinated with a realtor to clear a three-bedroom home in Poughkeepsie ahead of listing. Family lived out of state and couldn't be present. We sent photos throughout, kept the items they wanted, donated what was usable, hauled the rest. House was on the market a week later.

Single item pickup

Sometimes you just need that one couch gone. Or a fridge. Or a mattress. Or a treadmill. We handle one-item jobs without charging you for a whole load. We come to your door, we carry it out, you don't lift a finger.

What's included:

  • Single furniture, appliance, or large item pickup
  • Indoor pickup (we'll come to the actual room, not just the curb)
  • Stairs are fine — we have moving straps
  • Disposal or donation handled by us

Quote required — depends on size, weight, and access

Real example

A Wappingers Falls customer had an old recliner stuck in the corner of her basement. We brought it up the stairs and out — she didn't lift a finger.

Hoarder situations

When the situation is bigger than a regular cleanout. We come in with experience, discretion, and zero judgment — for the homeowner or their family. We've seen it all. We don't ask why. We just help you take back the space.

What's included:

  • Free walkthrough before any work begins
  • Full or partial hoarder situation cleanouts
  • Total privacy — what we see stays with us
  • Sort-and-haul approach (we can set aside items if requested)
  • Coordinate with family members from out of state if needed
  • Sweep-up and final cleanup
  • Connect with cleaning services for post-haul deep cleaning if needed

Quote required after walkthrough — these are always custom jobs

Sensitive situations

If this is a situation involving a loved one and you're not sure how to start the conversation, we can help. We've walked through plenty of these with family members who were overwhelmed. Just text us. No pressure, no commitment.

The fine print

What we don't haul.

Most things, we'll take. A few we won't — for safety, legal, or just-not-our-thing reasons.

We don't take:

  • Hazardous materials (asbestos, paints, solvents, gasoline, oil)
  • Medical waste or biohazards
  • Live animals or animal remains
  • Items containing freon (we can refer you to a licensed disposal service)
  • Anything that's still actively on fire

If you're not sure whether we can take something, just text us and we'll let you know.

Pricing

Honest pricing, every time.

We charge by the space your stuff takes up — not by the hour, not by the item, not by surprise.

Tiers run from $200 (smallest load) to $700 (largest single load). Larger jobs run on multiple loads — quoted flat-rate after a free walkthrough.

Every quote includes labor, dump fees, sweep-up, and donation drop-off or Marketplace listing for usable items. We give you the price before we start. We don't change it after we finish.
